I exited the restroom and stuffed my work clothes into bed my
“Wait, you had this all planned out?” Nate asked with his brows raised. He was obviously getting more shocked at the unveiling. He chuckled but it was more of a sarcastic laugh.
“Why do I feel like you don’t appreciate my forgiveness gift?”
His nose scrunched up. “Huh?”
I could tell all what Nate’s facial expressions meant and even though it doesn’t sound like a big deal, it sure as he is one because the fuck- you could easily think he means one thing when it’s another.
“I mean the tie. Fuck, I don’t even know when you like a thing or not. You’re just so complicated.”
“I am not as complicated as you. And I did like the tie, thank you
“So you’ve forgiven me?”
“I didn’t say so.”
“Nate!!”
“Well, I didn’t say I was holding any grudge against you either.” His lips spread into a smirk and I could see how satisfied he looked.
“Gotten.”
“Don’t even start,” he said rolling his eyes. “Don’t start acting like a witch.”
“How do you
know how witches act, Nate Bisley?”
“I’ve been around quite a number of them and you do have great potentials of becoming the greatest of all witches.”
I paused to think of it. “If I was a great witch then I’d take away all the pain in the world and make everyone feel so much happiness.”
“I think you’re getting the point all wrong,” he snarled. “A bad witch not a good one.”
“There’s good in every bad.”
“Including your ex?”
“I paused. “Of course. He cheated doesn’t mean he’s a bad person.” I looked at him. “Don’t look at me like that. You know exactly what I mean. Take yourself for example, you’re worse than bad. Let’s say horrible for a start but there’s still some good in you.”
“I guess
that makes sense. There’s a little good in you too.
“Of course but unfortunately, I’m not a witch let alone a good witch and I do not have the power to take away pain and stres‹ and frustration and everything else. But I sure as hell can help relieve all that.”
He hummed. “And how do you intend to do that?”
“Going somewhere cool to have fun. Prove that you’ve forgiven me and let’s get the hell away from here.”

“Now?”
“Done with work for today and it’s the weekend so yeah.”

The fall wind whips up around us as Nate leads me to his car. “I got this,” I snapped and opened the door for myself. “Not like this is a romantic date.”
He rolled his eyes but didn’t nag much throughout the ride. He just followed my instructions as I directed him to a new club I had found at the outskirt. I actually noticed the club on my way back from Marcus‘ penthouse.
When we got down from the car and entered the club, Nate had frown.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” he asked. “You said it was a bar not a fucking strip club.”
Truth is, I didn’t know it was this explicit. I just thought it as a nice place to have fun but there’s no way I’m letting Nate
know that.
“And you have a problem coming to a club?”
“Yes. Firstly, this is not the bar you said we’re heading to.”
“I did not say we were coming to a bar,” I defended. “I said somewhere cool.”
“And this is-“
Just then a blonde on a mask walked toward us shaking her ass.
“Crazy,” I finished. “But then we can dance. Yes, let’s dance.”
The music filtered through my ears and all I wanted to do was dance. “NO. I’ll be sitting over there,” he answered and pointed to the VIP section. I looked at the roped–off VIP section guarded by bouncers. It reeked of exquisite taste. Cushioned seats, nice drinks, and privacy of course.
“If you need anything, please let me know.”
“Please!” I called as soon as he turned his back.
“Are you insane?” he asked with a brow raised.
“Are you saying you can’t dance with me?”
“I’m saying this is too much of an intimacy. People are dancing naked.”
“But we’re wearing clothes. Just fuck it.”
I walked away, straight to the dancing floor and began moving my body to the beats. There was so much going in my head but the moment I sighted Helena, my scowl deepened. I turned to look at Nate and he was staring right back at me. I took a few strides to him. “I need your help, Nate. Helena is here and I’m convinced Ian is too. Please dance with me.”
Knowing the kind of jerk Nate is, I kept pleading but he agreed, walking with me to the dance floor. I slid my hand up his chest and then around his neck, pulling him onto the dance floor
“Shh,” I gestured when I figured he was about to complain and ruin the moment.
“Why are you doing this, anyway?”
“Because I don’t want them thinking I still sulk over the fact that he fucked her. It wouldn’t hurt for them to see me with a hot dude.”
